Presentation and discussion on the results of the inquiry on the state of the Art in Architectural education in Europe by Emmanuel Zaroukas ( Thessaloniki , Greece )

•  Ways in which the different Schools of Architecture of Europe operate and how they are planning for the future.

•  Interpretations of the Bologna Accord to be found in the Schools of Architecture in Europe .

•  The different contemporary profiles of graduates in the Schools of Architecture in Europe .

•  Mapping of the main competences and skills associated with these profiles.

•  Schools' obligation to notify the EU of changes in their curricula structure in order for their graduates to be able to be employed in other European Member States.

•  The right of other Member States to raise doubts about these changes adopted by a School.

•  The ten new Member States and their Graduates' benefits from EU Recognition until the end of the academic year 2006.

•  The process in which Schools should engage in order to apply to the EU for recognition.

•  The new Qualifications Directive.

•  The cease of the existence of the Architect's Directive on 20 October 2007 .

•  The consequences of this cease.

•  Schools' definition of the competences and skills associated with the profile of the graduate they wish to deliver.

•  Definition of these competences.

•  Consequences and impact of the definition of competences and skills of your graduates on your school curriculum.

Session 5: Synthesis and Conclusions 14:30-16:00

This session will attempt to synthesize the discussions and suggestions made during the previous days with the ambition to draw useful and constructive conclusions, as well as to generate a framework of agreements on the various themes, and to decide on collective ways forward.
